Many a traveller has passed by these halls and left us with a grand tale of their exploits and explorations... Perhaps you have something interesting to share? We are not the only ones seeking the lore of this land. If you happen to come across some new information, please consider sharing it with Kaifu-san. He will keep the utmost discretion over your contributions and pore over the information contained therein. "This world is older than you and I could possibly fathom," the young man says. There's something in his eyes, something beyond that youthful sparkle, that suggests wisdom beyond his years. "Ages ago, this land was populated by magicians who would make our Isparian wizards quake and quiver in subjugation. Mark my words, friend. We are only beginning to know about the Falatacot witches that once inhabited the swamps of Killiakta - and we can only speculate on the gods they worshiped and worked their bizarre magic with."

Most of these references he is speaking of are so foreign as to almost be some language other than the Roulean tongue everyone here speaks. You wonder if what Kaifu-san is saying is all lies or truth... or a bit of both. There's the touch of madness in him... there's no doubt of that. He seems a bit too mirthful to be in a place like this for as long has he has.

"But all of that takes a bit of time to go over. Many of my fellow scribes and storytellers have spent countless hours seeking out ancient secrets and documenting contemporary stories of heroes... I hope that you will show these manuscripts respect."

You nod, acknowledgingly. You, an Aluvian by blood, have spent most of your time here on Dereth among the Sho and have adopted many of their customs and their particular sense of honor and duty. You unroll the parchment he has handed you. Shi Kaifu's signiture stamp is a bright red beacon below the black ink scribbles...

One of the things that Turbine has promised us is a deep history and an evolving story that will continue and shape the world as we play. Of course they haven't wasted resources implementing this in beta, and they should not because then we would have no story for the commercial release. We at Stratics will do our very best to keep track of this story, and analyze the history of Dereth. Hopefully this site will be a big help for those that want to know exactly what is happening in the world of Dereth.
