The skill of fletching (the creation of arrows and quarrels) uses two part of the arrow or quarrel, the arrowhead and shaft. The art of fletching is not limited to the standard arrows or quarrels, using the correct parts a skilled fletcher can create a wide-variety of ammunition for archers. Arrowheads, arrow shafts, or quarrel shafts are in bundles of 10. One bundle of shaft combined with one bundle of arrowheads will create 10 arrows or quarrels with each successful attempt at fletching. Purchases of arrowheads and shafts can be made at most bowyers, though general supply provisioners also carry them on occasion. To make standard arrows or quarrels, use arrowheads on arrow shafts. The same method when used with special arrowheads (armor-piercing, broad arrowheads, etc.) will make arrows of that type of arrow or quarrel. |
