In lieu of a the usual developer chat in February (cancelled because of an office move), Turbine accepted six questions each from several fansites. Here are the responses to the questions submitted through AC Stratics: 1) Will we ever be able to join the explorer society and be an explorer instead of adventurer? Ken Troop: There are no current plans to allow players to “join” the
Explorer Society and change their title. While it would be a nice side
project, there is nothing under development. 2) In the January Dev Chat, Ken mentioned that a couple of quests geared toward those with the lockpick skill would be introduced in the March update, though they were still subject to modification. Are these still in the works, and, if so, will they be delivered in March? KT: By the time that you get the answer to this question, you should know
it already. 3) Do you plan to add more quests for Unarmed Combat users (and indeed all skills which have less quests than others)? Cardell Kerr: We are adding new quests to Asheron’s Call every month. We
plan on adding more to every single skill, however we need to make sure that
the additions agree with the game and with the need. Right now, some skills
need attention more than others. 4) What can we expect to see in the way of more player interaction (eg allegiance or grouping) improvements in the coming months? KT: Our unofficial answer is that there should be some fellowship improvements coming very soon, and we are at work on trying to design and create allegiance improvements, some of which will hopefully see the light of day soon. 5) The Grievvers are somewhat drain resistant - how long have you had the capability to change this sort of resistance, and will it ever be applied to players? KT: We have had this capacity for a long time now, and there are no current plans to apply this type of resistance to players. 6) Will we ever see the introduction of any new skills or will any innovations simply be added to existing ones? DJ: Our current priorities are on expanding the usefulness and function of existing skills. It seems like a more efficient use of our time to do this, instead of making new skills. While we do have some ideas for new skills, they’re not in any stage of implementation as of yet, and you’re more likely to see current skills expanded in the foreseeable future.
