Near a road in Yaraq, there lives a woman called Ma'yad Ibn Ibsar. You can
see her standing by her tent (22.5S 0.4W) on the opposite side of the portal
to Al-Arqas. If you speak to her you will find she is looking for word of
her lost brother.
|
Ma'yad Ibn Ibsar tells you, "Hail, traveler. Have you
encountered a man named Abmim ibn Ibsar? He is my brother, who foolishly
listened to those who whisper of an unsafe freedom to be gained in the
Direlands."
Ma'yad Ibn Ibsar tells you, "We have not heard from him in several
months, and begin to worry. The last we heard, he was lurking along the
coast near Yaraq. If you bring me news of him, I would reward you greatly."
|
Search along the coast to the west and eventually you will see two
triangular pillars rising out of the water. Near one, is "The corpse of
Abmim Ibn Ibsar, bobbing gently near the surface of the water." And guarding
the corpse are 4 Shallows Sharks. Beware: they will follow you onto land! If
you have trouble taking all four, try drawing them off one at a time. One
Shallow Shark corpse usually yields a fairly good piece of magid jewelry
(with 1 or 2s on it). You will probably have to use "R" to use the Shallows
Sharks Corpses as they will fall below the water and be difficult to open.
Once you've dealt with the Shallows Sharks, you are safe to look at Abmim's
Corpse. Along with a few pyreals and a gem or two, you will find: 'Abmim's
Jambiya' Upon which he had inscribed, "Taken from the hand of a fat
merchant, the first of many successes in this new world!" --Abmim Ibn Ibsar"
Obviously he didn't live long enough to enjoy his new success.
The Shallows Sharks will respawn in about 20 minutes, the corpse's content a
few minutes thereafter.
Take the Jambiya back to Ma'yad for your reward. And a warning against
becoming a murderer like her brother.
Ma'yad Ibn Ibsar tells you, "Ah, Abmim, I knew you would one day run afoul
of something. He that chooses a thief's life has it stolen from him early.
My brother became a brigand and murderer, friend traveler."
Ma'yad Ibn Ibsar tells you, "Be not as foolish as he - do not lightly
discard the protection this mage Asheron provides. But, as I promised, you
have earned a reward."
Ma'yad Ibn Ibsar gives you 300 Pyreals.
